Career Contessa Jobs, Thingtesting
Thingtesting
Content & Community Lead
Remote
Full-Time | Entry-Level
We’re looking for a creative content and community lead to set the tone for our brand discovery and product testing community. This role is driving community engagement initiatives across channels and platforms, including Thingtesting’s own product, social media channels, newsletter, and email (our weekly newsletter is opened by 50k+ brand-obsessed readers waiting to meet you!).

This role is perfect for someone who is excited to own the relationship with our testers, all the way from brand discovery to the review writing experience, and who wants to work at the intersection of social media, product, and content. As an early member of the team, you’ll be instrumental in helping us define and scale our world-class product testing community in a hands-on way.

We’re a small, 100% remote team of 9 people, with team members currently spread between Europe and the U.S.

About Thingtesting

We're a brand discovery and product testing community, with a shared goal to help people shop better. Over 1 million visitors come to Thingtesting.com every month to research before they buy, but also to discover new brands, try new things, and share honest reviews to help others shop better.

We are a venture-backed early-stage startup that has raised financing from renowned U.S. and European funds and angel investors, including Forerunner Ventures, Animo Ventures, Hunter Walk, Tina Sharkey, and many more. We have been fortunate to receive appreciation and recognition for our hard work along the way from the likes of TechCrunch, Vogue Business, Modern Retail, and a Harvard Business School case study. Forbes included our CEO, Jenny Gyllander, on its 30-under-30 list.

We have a lot of exciting developments in store. Join us on the mission to help people shop better.

We Can Offer You:

  • $65-80k annual base salary, depending on experience, with potential for additional performance based bonus, plus Thingtesting stock options.
  • Benefits (health, vision, dental, life with United Healthcare), 401k match, unlimited paid vacation, and other perks.
  • You will have the opportunity to work with the whole team to define and execute our content and community goals and strategy. You will be able to create a process that doesn’t exist and make it happen.
  • A friendly and nurturing environment to grow and learn in.
  • Flexible hours within U.S. timezone and freedom to work where you want within the U.S. We are a remote-first company.

Your Experience and Skills:

  • 2 years of experience in social media, content creation, or managing and growing online communities
  • Experience launching and managing a community-driven initiative from scratch to final product (e.g. managing an online forum, creating an event series, or writing a newsletter)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Work well cross-functionally (and experience from working remotely is a plus!)

You Are:

  • A resourceful and creative doer who adapts to challenges as they arise with the ability to think outside the box and turn constraints into opportunities.
  • You are a people person who naturally builds and nurtures genuine relationships with everyone around you. You are a good listener who always puts users and the community’s interests first.
  • You never stop making progress and obsessing over delivering value to our community and brands. You are motivated by learning, and thrive in an ever-changing environment.
  • Enthusiastic about new brands (borderline obsessed ??), an eye for great design and products, and know what brands all the early-adaptors should test next.
  • Passionate about social media (aka chronically online), and have excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Excited to travel on occasion. Our team is remote but meets up in different places around the world once or twice every year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activate the community to join product testing opportunities, write reviews and introduce new product features
  • Edit and write our weekly newsletter and articles for Thingtesting Stories
  • Plan, create, and distribute Thingtesting’s content across social media channels, and engage with our followers on those platforms
  • Spot and curate new brand launches for inclusion on Thingtesting and build relationships with emerging brands
  • Drive user incentivization programming through content and community initiatives
  • Serve as a liaison between followers and our team to inform product and content ideas
  • Work on special projects, and participate in industry events
