The Role
The Community & Events Manager will focus on building brand awareness for Kindred Ventures by managing events, website, and social media initiatives. This role will be critical in building the Kindred Ventures community. This in-person role requires working from the Kindred Ventures office in San Francisco 4 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Event Management:
- Plan and execute a variety of events, including conferences, webinars, and networking sessions, both at our office and globally.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align event objectives with company goals.
- Manage end-to-end event logistics (including venue selection, vendor coordination, budgeting, staffing and event retros).
- Create marketing materials for events & execute campaigns to drive awareness and attendance.
- Analyze event performance for continuous improvement.
Website Management:
- Oversee website development and maintenance.
- Ensure the site is user-friendly and visually appealing.
- Create and update content reflecting news and events.
Social Media:
- Create content for platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Monitor trends and analytics to refine strategies.
- Engage with followers to foster a positive brand image.
Community Building:
- Build a network of industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors.
- Manage guest lists for events to ensure high-quality and diverse attendance.
- Implement strategies to increase event engagement.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage event budgets efficiently.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors to maximize value.
- Secure sponsorship to offset the cost of our events budget.
Communications:
- Support Content Marketing Manager in developing social media content from events and community engagement.
- Curate content for newsletters and communications to the firm’s network.
- Support the development of marketing materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing with a focus on events, website management, and social media.
- Experience in venture capital and/or startups, and an understanding of the ecosystem.
- A proven track record in planning successful events and driving engagement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, content management systems (e.g., WordPress), event management software, and social media platforms.
- Proactive problem-solver with creativity in event concept development.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while adapting quickly to changes.
