About Me

Hello! I'm Margaret. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to connecting with and learning more about you too! The most powerful concept in coaching is that it is ALL ABOUT YOU! You are in the driver's seat and hold all the inner wisdom of who you are today and where you want to go from here. My role is to stand alongside you as a guide to unlock new perspectives, empower growth, share knowledge, resources, and tools and act as an accountability partner to help you achieve specific goals. I understand that the relentless demands of work, life, and everything in between can be overwhelming, but I can also reassure you that change is always possible with the right support…you can absolutely do this! Wherever you are in your journey is where we will begin our work together. In addition to focusing on specific goals, I can help you if: • You are a mother trying to navigate pre/post maternity leave or in search of a new career path that gives you the freedom to embrace both work and family life • You want to re-invent or shift your career focus but are not sure where to start • You feel like an "outsider" in your work culture and/or are struggling to find your voice • You find yourself questioning your success or ability to perform • You are feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and/or unfulfilled by your current work situation but unsure where to go from here If you're interested in seeing results from others I've worked with, you can find them here: www.risecoachingstudio.com/results. AND NOW, HERE'S A BIT ABOUT ME: I am a leadership advisor and certified coach committed to helping professionals and organizations thrive using a human-centered, values-based approach. As a former L’Oreal global marketing leader, I draw on my direct experience cultivating high-performing, innovative teams to drive meaningful transformation in all aspects of business and life. My clients include academic and international business partners in addition to entrepreneurs, artistic creators and a broad range of talent at start-ups, non-profits and Fortune 500 corporations. I am also an active mentor committed to non-profit organizations, including Upwardly Global, to help break down societal barriers in support of creating a more powerfully diverse and inclusive workforce. I received my coaching accreditations from Columbia University’s Coaching Center of Excellence (CCOE) and ICF: International Coaching Federation (ACC) in addition to a Master's Degree in Marketing & Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology, where I continue to serve as a leadership advisor, workshop facilitator and coach for the graduate program. Art and beauty have always inspired me as powerful forms of human connection, exploration and expression. This curiosity and appreciation continue to influence my studies, particularly within science-based organizational mindfulness, positive psychology and visual expressive language, to develop deeper awareness and growth in myself and the clients I support. In my free time, you’ll find me teaching young artists at Oh! Canary art studio and painting with my favorite ‘abstract expressionists,’ daughters (Harper 3 & Ava 5 yrs). ____________________ WEBINAR: PowerPlay: Next Level Leadership Through the Science of Play https://www.careercontessa.com/webinars/science-of-play-leadership-webinar/

Margaret is equally as strategic & focused as she is empathetic & supportive. After narrowing down my strengths, job/company priorities and unique value proposition, I landed a new role with a 34% increase in total compensation within a month of applying for roles! Working with Margaret has been one of the most impactful and transformational experiences in my professional (and personal) life. When I first came to Margaret for career coaching, I was at a crossroads, feeling stuck and confused about the trajectory of my career. Margaret approached our work with boatloads of empathy, support, and trust, along with incredible listening skills and an action-oriented mindset. After 5 months of partnering with Margaret through one-on-one coaching sessions filled with thoughtful, reflective questions and enlightening discussion; values and strengths exercises; laser coaching calls; and amazing recommendations on resources/books to meet my needs, I went from having no idea where to go next in my career to landing a job (in a new industry and function) that is directly aligned to my passions and strengths. Margaret was instrumental in helping me achieve clarity in direction, while providing the right tools and guidance at each phase of my journey – from career visioning, to networking, to interview prep, to negotiating an offer. Margaret was an excellent accountability partner that helped me stay on track with the goals I’d set for myself during our time together, and was the best cheerleader and inspiration along the way! Through our work, I am now feeling more confident in myself, more self-aware, and more fulfilled. I can’t recommend Margaret enough!

Margaret is the best! Some of my favorite parts about working with Margaret include. . . 1. Margaret is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to coaching. Her background is inspiring and helps her provide expert guidance. I can confidently trust her. 2. After our sessions, Margaret always writes a follow up so I can reference our discussion and action items after. I appreciate the way she shares resources as well. Whether it be an article, podcast, or example documents, she helps make sure I have what I need to be successful. 3. Margaret is so kind! Our sessions are not only productive but also fun. I feel like we are able to connect authentically and naturally which always makes me look forward to our sessions.

Margaret is exceptional! I felt her commitment and integrity from the first minutes we met. While she's accessible, intuitive and %100 present, she's also action-oriented and gives clear, solid advice. We did lots of tactical work together, which helped me navigate smoothly through some critical and confusing moments in my current role and move efficiently with a more strategic mindset. Her guidance in understanding my values gave clarity for my next steps. Her concise post-session summaries with tangible steps are my favourites. Sometimes I go back and read them again. Working with Margaret is a privilege, and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs support.

Margaret is wonderful. She is approachable and has helped me work through a lot of career planning in a short time. We have worked on everything from how to communicate my wants/needs, narrowing my values & goals to resume details. I recommend her to anyone looking for support related to their careers.

I have had a few sessions with Margaret already and it's been career therapy. She is keeping me accountable, but also listening, giving great feedback that is keeping me on track. I already have a clearer idea of where I want to be in my next move, but also, my confidence is growing. Excited to see where this work lands me!
