About Me

I help my clients ignite greater levels of confidence, gain career clarity, increase promotability, manage up, build their networking communities, and unleash their professional voice through the coaching process. My coaching is geared toward leaders and professionals who want to feel and be empowered and emboldened in their careers, workplaces, and businesses. The genesis of my work begins with my grandfather, Dr. Joseph Flanz, who was a psychiatrist and practiced in the 1930s and ’40s. Unfortunately, he died young, and I never had an opportunity to meet him however I believe innately ingrained in my DNA is a natural attraction and curiosity to work with individuals to uncover their hidden gems, gifts, and talents. I consider myself a student of humanity. As a career development coach, I work with leaders and professionals to build greater self-confidence, exercise, and advocate for themselves in the workplace and achieve a greater sense of professional satisfaction and fulfillment. My career journey began in behavioral health. I worked with youth in residential treatment facilities as a counselor and then eventually gained leadership positions overseeing several large treatment programs. Teenagers are naturally belligerent and challenging and working with youth who had extensive trauma made the work even more difficult, but I loved every minute of it. The youth taught me so much more than I ever taught them, and their levels of resilience were boundless. In 2012, I opened my career coaching practice. I embraced the world of entrepreneurship as I continued as an intrapreneur. Blending all the disciplines and my experiences within the fields of behavioral health, leadership, HR, OD, coaching, and presenting has brought me to what I offer today. Last year, the Career Contessa interviewed me on her podcast entitled Managing Up based on my book Manage Up! The Ultimate Guide to Managing Your Manager. The podcast and my book provided strategies and tips on how to manage and coach up as well as how to build your networking communities. An essential skill for your professional tool belt. Here are some things that I bring to the table: 1. I am strategic. I find creative, diverse, and alternative paths to get to clients' desired destinations. 2. I am futuristic. I believe that anything is possible. I am open and have a positive and uplifting mindset. 3. I am an arranger. I am an exceptional coordinator; organizer and I get things done. 4. I have high emotional intelligence. I am empathic and get jazzed when developing others. 5. I believe in our interconnectedness. I thrive when working in diverse environments that respect, embrace and value all realms of our human existence. Please reach out to gain career clarity!
