23 Subreddits to Supercharge Your Career

Wondering what everyone is doing on Reddit? We scoured Reddit to find the best subreddits to help your career.

Ever had a career-related question pop into your head but thought it might be too weird to ask?
Odds are, someone else has asked that same exact question. That’s why Reddit, a massive online forum and the seventh most popular website in the world according to Alexa, is the perfect resource to supercharge your career.
Recently, the giant online community was center stage when Reddit members helped increase GameStop’s stock via their subreddit WallStreetBets. While this meme stock explosion was unprecedented, members have been using the website for years to get advice on money, dating, family, and more.

What Is Reddit? Questions About Reddit

So what is Reddit?
In case you don’t typically stray away from Facebook or Instagram, Reddit is a social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website. In a nutshell, it is one large online community made up of thousands of smaller online communities.
As a registered member, you can submit content to the site such as links, text, posts, images and videos. The website was launched in 2005, and now has over 430 million monthly active users and over 100,000 active communities.

What's a Subreddit?

A subreddit is a specific online community on Reddit, which is dedicated to a niche topic that people write about and discuss. You can think of them as discussion boards, and they’re denoted by r/, followed by the name of the subreddit.
No matter what topic you’re interested in, there is a subreddit for you. If you’re not sure where to start, you can check out Reddit’s top-growing categories here.

Who Can Use Reddit?

Reddit is open to everyone who is 13 years and older! However, if you want to post and comment then you will have to register to become a member. Of course, you should follow “rediquette” in order to be a respected member of your communities.

How to Join and Use Reddit

If you want to reap the many benefits of being a Reddit member, you can register on the website with a username and password. It’s completely free to join!
Once you’re registered, you can start browsing different subreddits. If you have a specific topic in mind, simply type it into the search bar at the top of the website. Or, if you’re in an explorative mood, feel free to scroll through the front page to see what sparks your interest.
After you find a subreddit that interests you, subscribe to it by clicking on the green “Subscribe” button. This will help personalize the main screen you see when logging into your Reddit account.
If you’re ready to interact rather than just lurk, you can choose to comment on a post or “upvote” which moves a post toward the top of that particular subreddit. If you disapprove of a post, you can even “downvote,” which moves it toward the bottom of the page. And of course, if you have a question of your own, feel free to post!
Can Reddit really help supercharge my career? YES. You can find inspiration, vent about your coworkers, get tips on how to negotiate your salary, and more. Read on for the top Reddit channels to supercharge your career.
